Throwback Thursday November 3rd 2016
It's fall so it's time for a fall-like throwback. Even though it's 80 degrees today, the leave changing is in full effect around here. In Mance, PA, home of the Ex- B&O between Cumberland and Pittsburgh, was a place I took a yearly trip in the second week of October. As most trees weren't even close, up on the summit, the maples were reds/yellows and rest were close. Never got there during peak colors because the weather is dreary most days and would pick the most appealing days to camp out. It was quite cold at night with lows in the 30s/40s. But worth it every second when you get pics like this from October 2005:

ReplyDeleteSuperb photography -certainly capturing everything - fall colours of the terrain and the freight train at exactly the right moment. Well done! I was reading your earlier posts and noticed earlier you had a stint in Hospital with a very serious illness- it takes time to recover. I had something simular with 'Peri-carditis'- heart sack inflamation- some fifteen years ago - it has never returned. Stay well - and happy HO Railroading. Regards. KEV.
Thanks KEV! The myocarditis was quite scary and I made a full recovery in a couple of months. Believe this is has slowed the modeling down in 2016. Looking forward to a great finish on 2016.
DeleteThanks for sharing, great pic! Almost looks like it could be a model RR with the tracks right near a photo background. Lot's of peak color going on up my way right now, but not really any chance to get trackside to catch anything.
