Welcome!

This site is dedicated to my model railroad, the HO scale Virginia Midland Railroad. This layout comprises a 12X9 room with two levels. The upper level is complete and the lower level scenery has just begun.

I do a handful of train shows in the Virginia/Maryland region with Makin Tracks.
I also can help you find that freight car/locomotive or other hard to find item.

A Virginia Midland boxcar earning it's keep...

Darrell Darkow sent me some pictures of a boxcar he purchased from me a while back.  It's currently in service on his Royersford Modular Railroad.  I really appreciate emails like this and it made my day Darrell!

Here's his email:

Shannon,
I wanted to share some pictures of the boxcar I bought from you. It has been in both club shows this year. We did a joint layout with the Allegheny Western lines club a few of there members instantly recognized your layout and at least one said they wanted that car. Had to fight them off lol. Hope your doing well I keep looking for updates to your blog. It has helped me develop more of my layout. .

Have a good day Darrell

Spring Break and Happy Easter!

I know I have not posted a bunch over the last few months.  Been very busy with everything but looking forward to having having this week off coming up.  Hope to get a few things done on the layout and I will put a few posts on this blog.  Been trying to incorporate a video so that is coming too.  Had a great time at the Timonium Show last weekend and met a couple of blog followers.  I will also post on my great finds up at the show.  I also have been working on my presentation next month on my model railroad for my local James River NMRA division.  The meet is at Charlottesville, VA on May 8th.
So busy to say the least!  Take care!
