Welcome!

This site is dedicated to my model railroad, the HO scale Virginia Midland Railroad. This layout comprises a 12X9 room with two levels. The upper level is complete and the lower level scenery has just begun.

I do a handful of train shows in the Virginia/Maryland region with Makin Tracks.
I also can help you find that freight car/locomotive or other hard to find item.

Short Video of my new signals

Here a little teaser video from my layout.  Not big fan of showing unfinished areas on videos by wanted to show that working signals do add a lot to a layout.

  1. Shannon,

The signals look great- I'm a huge fan of working signals and hope to have mine operational at some point. Whose system are you using for detection? I noted that you have a green over green aspect- I've never seen that one before. Here's a link to a guide on aspects and indications that you might find useful: http://www.blet375.com/csx-Signals-REDI-Center.pdf

By the way, those diesels rolling through the scene look really nice!

  2. Actually I throw the signals with toggle switches. You can here me "switching" them in the video. Thanks for the link Tom! I wanted to wire the signals with red over green but could not figure exactly how to do it.

  3. Nice! The only thing that was missing was a good ol' Caboose! JK!
Can't wait to get a look and see them. I need to consider the same thing soon, on my layout. Thanks for the inspiration!
